PHELIX BACKGROUND
Thank you for visiting our web-site.
I started Phelix in February 2002. Prior to then I was Senior
Director for Strategic Sourcing for DuPont Pharmaceuticals
with responsibility for outsourcing API's, custom
intermediates, development services and finished dosage. I
have more than 30 years experience in the chemical and
pharmaceutical industry with extensive experience in all
phases of outsourcing.
Outsourcing can be a significant boone to pharmaceutical
development and manufacturing but it is not without risks.
I started Phelix based upon the observation that key scientists
are often asked to perform an outsourcing role that is often
both an add-on and a distraction from the science role they
were actually hired to do. Since it takes years to build a
background in outsourcing that can both maximize
advantages and avoid serious pitfalls, companies often
operate with greater risks and higher costs than necessary.
By bringing instant expertise to your company Phelix can

outsourcing products forward rapidly and with reduced risk

My consulting practice has included both large and small
companies and has included consulting on R&D and
commercial sourcing of services and materials, site
evaluations, company due diligence, market intelligence,

savings and smooth supply chain development.
During my years in outsourcing, I learned a great deal about
both the good and the bad of outsourcing. I've managed
numerous outsourcing relationships, audited nearly 200 R&D
and manufacturing sites for cGMP, technical and business
suitability (including over 60 in China in the past 5 years)),
and attended numerous trade shows and workshops to
develop many relationships in the field. I have given more
than a dozen seminars and workshops in the field and I am
on the editorial board of PharmSource. In addition, I have
also acted as a supplier representative, so I know both sides
of outsourcing
I have an extensive network of highly experienced consultants
that can be called upon to address nearly any outsourcing
challenge including R&D and commercial supply and services
for pharmaceutical intermediates, APIs, finished dosage and
packaging. If I don't have the answer I usually know someone
who does.
